Welcome!
I've never blogged before so I'm not quite sure where to start, so I'll begin by telling you a bit about my trip.
This summer I'm spending three weeks in London while taking two courses for my graduate degree. I've never been to London but I have always wanted to go so I'm really excited! While in London we'll be visiting all of the main attractions such as the Tower of London, Buckingham Palace, and Trafalger Square but I also hope to hang out at some local places and experience life as the Londoners do, rather than just as a tourist. I also want to visit Dublin and/or Glasgow and Edinburgh while I'm there.
After I'm finished with the classes, my beau, Morgan, will be joining me in London and we'll be traveling to France together to stay with some friends of mine in Nantes and then visit Paris afterwards.
I LOVE traveling so I'm excited to make it to another destination on my "visit-before-I-die" list.
Here are some other notable places that I've been:
France- Paris and the Loire Valley
Vieques, Puerto Rico
Dominican Republic- I stayed at a resort once, but visited two other times to volunteer and stayed in the mountains with locals.
Alaska- Juneau, Sitka, Haines, and Skagway
I've also travelled a bunch in the US and Canada. I love exploring destinations both near and far. Leave a comment and tell me the most interesting place you've ever been!
I love that you have traveled so much already! That's wonderful! I'm a bit jealous that you're heading off to see more of France after our class. That sounds like a lot of fun. The most interesting place I've ever been? It would be either Venice, Italy, or San Jose, Costa Rica. Venice has such an incredible history (and the way it's built is pretty amazing); but San Jose was just such a departure from everything I knew. They don't have street names, so all of the directions are given by distance from landmarks. It blew my mind.
ReplyDeleteI love some of the places that you've already visited! I've always been curious about the Dominican Republic and may be asking you about your travels when we're in London.
ReplyDeleteFor me, the most interesting place I've been has to be Tianjin and Beijing. Both are large cities in China, but each have something amazing and different to offer. Beijing has all these great hutongs that connect to some of the best shopping areas while Tianjin had the Tianjin Eye and some of the craziest driving (by cars, buses, and bikes) I had ever seen! Ha ha.
I have traveled a few places outside of the US including Italy and Greece. Perhaps, one of the most memorable was visiting The Vatican. Sadly, we visted the day before the Pope was gravely ill and people flocked outside to pay respects. It was so odd to see coverage on the Italian news and that we were there the day before in the same place and the news showed 1,000's of people standing outside "famous window".
ReplyDeleteI'm so jealous that you're getting to stay longer. Have an awesome time on the second leg of your trip this summer.
